Piano Lessons

Level 1 Piano Covers the Basics of Piano:
High and Low notes, C Position, Finger Numbers, Hand Positions
In the beginning a student knows nothing about playing piano. By the end they can play five notes in C Position with knowledge of finger numbers and Note names in both hands.
Level 2 Piano Teaches Rhythm and Sight Reading Basics
In the beginning of level two a student knows finger numbers and hand positions in C position but has little or no knowledge of Rhythm and Sight Reading. By the end of the class they can read, write and compose and perform basic music compositions.
Level 1 & 2 Combo Class Time 3:25-4:10
Level 3
The student applies their knowledge of basic piano technique, sight-reading, and rhythm basics to performing and memorizing known melodies. The student learns the beginning fundamentals of harmonization and begins to apply their understanding to the basics learned in levels 1-2 to create their first musical arrangements and performances. The students begin to share their individual performances with the other students in the class.

A fun way to build your child's imagination and have fun adventures! This class will change to a new adventure each week of the session. Fort Building, Imaginary Camping and Fishing, Nature Walks, etc. 3 child minimum $60 session or 4 classes on 8 pass.
Mess Makers- Fun Art That Makes a Mess Tues 11am 4/18-5/9
Tots will explore art with their fingers, toes, and so much more! Finger paints, soft dough, rock painting, bird feeders. Come dressed for the mess! 3 child minimum $60 per session or 4 classes on 8 pass . +$5 per week supply fee to be paid to Ms Julie.

Join surf instructor Paul Smith water fun at local beaches! Bring a sack lunch and sunscreen daily and money for snack on the way home. Longboards provided if needed. Wetsuits highly recommended.
Week 1 & 2- (All experience levels welcome. These weeks are geared toward beginner surfers but kids must be competent and confident in the water. Junior Lifeguard experience is a plus as kids will be carrying all their own gear and can be walking up to 1/2 mile each way.)

The Zone
Located at the Buellton Rec Center. The fully equipped game room at the Buellton Rec Center. Youths in grades 6-12 can hang out with friends, play games, and socialize in a safe, supervised environment.

- The Zone is a supervised after school game center & hang out area
- Available to students from all schools grades 6th and up
- Open Mondays 1:30-6:00pm, Tuesday – Friday 3:10-6:00pm
- $1.00 per entry, Punch cards are available for purchase at the Rec Center front office or online. (No advance sign-up necessary)
- Homework time is encouraged but not mandatory, internet and computer are available
- Vending Machine items for $1.00-$1.50 available for purchase
- Bad language and/or bullying will not be tolerated & may result in suspension from The Zone
- No electronics allowed, there is a phone available at The Zone for phone calls home
- Special fields trips & event opportunities are occasionally offered for an additional fee
- All students must have a youth registration form filled out, forms are available at the Rec Center office or can be filled out online at buelltonrec.com under “Register”
